Welcome to the website of the German Embassy in Port-of-Spain!
The Embassy is the German diplomatic representation to Trinidad and Tobago as well as Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname. We are also covering Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands and Montserrat with respect to consular affairs.
For the citizens of all these nations as well as German visitors to this beautiful and exciting part of the world we strive to be a gateway providing insights and useful information on all aspects of our bilateral relations – be it in the political, economic, social or cultural fields.
Our relations are an increasingly dense and vibrant web of political contacts, economic exchange through commerce and investment, science and education, as well as sports, music and film. Above all it is the human factor, making friends and getting to know each one’s culture from which the relations between our states and regions benefit immensely.
Latin America and the Caribbean traditionally have played a special role for Germany and will increasingly do so in the future. This has been demonstrated by the adoption of a comprehensive strategy paper of the German Government on our relations with Latin America and the Caribbean in the summer of 2010. You will find the link to this paper as well as links to other useful information and institutions which I do hope will trigger your interest to learn even more about the activities of the Embassy, about Germany and about our bilateral relations.
