Legal and Consular, Passport and Visa Service
Information on the German immigration regulations
Foreign original certificates should always fulfill all necessary formal requirements. For example, depending on the issuing country, they have to bear an apostille or have to be legalised. Regrettably foreign certificates missing necessary formal requirements can not be accepted.

Passport information
All applicants for German biometric passports are required to come in person to the German Embassy in Port of Spain (to scan fingerprints for all persons older than six years). Applications for biometric passports can therefore neither be deposited at the offices of our Honorary Consuls nor can they be sent by mail.
Passport fees have to be paid in person at the Embassy either in the local currency (Trinidad-and-Tobago-Dollar, TTD) in cash or by credit card (American Express, Mastercard or Visa - the card will be charged in Euros, EUR). Depending on the credit card issuing institute additional fees may apply.
