The German Embassy in Port of Spain invites artists, graphic designers and other people active in the arts to participate in the design competition of a “Buddy Bear”.

The “Buddy Bear” is a 2 m tall statue of glass-fibre reinforced plastic. It is a unique opportunity for artists to transport a vibrant and colourful depiction of its roots in Germany (as country of origin) and the heritage and the specifics of the countries of the East Caribbean / Trinidad and Tobago (as the location where it will be displayed). The different designs will join a competition where a judging panel will decide about the winning design.

The Embassy will sign a contract with the winning artist including a remuneration for the works and a compensation for the material used to decorate the bear. Once the design has been executed by the artist it will be displayed in a public space in the vicinity of the German Embassy in Port of Spain.
